New Samunprai Thai Dishes at basil

Experience Chef Kesinee’s healthy herb menu

Bangkok, October 8, 2014 – In October and November, basil’s talented Chef Kesinee introduces two new and truly outstanding dishes to her incredibly popular samunprai Thai or Thai herb menu. The new ‘must-try’ dishes are yam polamai goong mangkorn, a spicy salad of lobster with tropical fruits and kaffir lime, and panaeng neau gam, braised beef cheek with a rich coconut milk curry.

The gifted chef has also chosen many diners’ favorites from her popular series of special menus that turn the spotlight on the most essential herbs and spices.

Renowned for her extraordinary skill and masterful use of fresh Thai herbs and complex spice blends, Chef Kesinee will draw inspiration from Chinese keys, galangal, holy basil and Thai basil, kaffir lime leaf, lemongrass, and turmeric.

Highlights on basil’s carefully balanced menu will include herb-rich dishes such as yum hoy shell yang krachai krob, spicy grilled fresh scallops salad with crispy Chinese keys. The tropical rhizome and member of the ginger family is often added to Thai cuisine to enliven fish and seafood dishes with its peppery taste and Chef Kesinee uses it to great effect in this sublime dish. Diners can also enjoy her interpretation of a northeastern Thai classic, laab ped krapow krob, a flavorful salad of minced duck with crispy holy basil, and phad neau nok krajork ted bai horapa, a distinctly contemporary dish of stir fried ostrich with Thai basil.

The gifted chef’s aromatic soups include gaeng som pla hima, a sour soup with snow fish which uses fresh turmeric for color and depth of flavor, and gaeng see klong moo oon bai yeera, a spicy red curry with succulent pork spare ribs, yeera leaves and lemongrass. There are also fish dishes of pla hima kha onn, snow fish with young galagal, pla todd samunprai, fried fish with herbs, and many other delicous and intriguing dishes to ensure an unforgettable evening.

Don’t miss Chef Kesinee’s new herb-rich Thai cuisine at basil. Prices start from 390++ Baht per dish.
