Celebrating Japan’s ‘midsummer day of the ox’ festival at Yamazato

Unagi (eel) dishes for lunch and dinner at The Okura Prestige Bangkok

Bangkok, Thailand (7 July 2015) Yamazato, the signature Japanese restaurant at The Okura Prestige Bangkok celebrates the annual ‘midsummer day of the ox’ festival with new unagi (eel) dishes for lunch and dinner. These traditional summer dishes are available from 24 July to 5 August 2015.

It’s a long held belief in Japan that eel dishes help to maintain stamina and energy levels in hot and humid climates. Yamazato presents a new Gozen set lunch menu priced at Baht 850++ per set that includes a spicy seafood soup; a sashimi dish of tuna, sea bream and surf clam; simmered pork sukiyaki style with onion, Shiitake mushroom, carrot and green vegetables; deep-fried shrimp with fish and vegetables and a choice of steamed rice with grilled eel in tea broth or grilled eel on steamed rice. A la carte selections for lunch and dinner, priced from Baht 350++, include umaki tamago (egg omelette roll with grilled eel); unagi battera (pressed eel sushi) yaki toro pirikara ninniku sauce (grilled tuna belly with spicy garlic sauce) and unagi gyuniku with truffle sauce (grilled eel and beef with truffle sauce).

Yamazato is located on the 24th Floor of The Okura Prestige Bangkok. Open daily for lunch and dinner from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm and 6:00 pm to 10:30 pm.

All prices are subject to 10% service charge and 7% government tax.
