A LUNAR NEW YEAR FOR THE MIDDLE KINGDOM

Chinese New Year 2016 @ Millennium Hilton Bangkok

Thai culture is often blended indistinctively together with Chinese culture in the widely diverse Kingdom of Thailand, and every first day of the first lunar month in the Chinese calendar the country is proud to celebrate Chinese New Year. At Millennium Hilton Bangkok, Yuan, the Chinese restaurant, is busy preparing a range of tastes from the mystic Orient to mark this auspicious event, starting 6th - 10nd February 2016.

On 8th February, a troupe of dancers will be performing the traditional Lion Dance, offering a visual spectacle of dazzling colors and gravity-defying leaps.  As you enter Yuan restaurant, your spirits will be raised by the distinct sounds of the Guzheng, a breathtaking Chinese instrument.

Although the celebrations will be hotel-wide, it is at Yuan that the heart of China will beat most fiercely. Hong Kong Chef Cheung Chin Choi has created a range of Chinese New Year special menus to allow guests to savor the very best of Cantonese cuisine. Set menus (from THB 20,000 nett to THB 24,000 nett for a table of 10 persons) and á la carte will be available both for lunch and dinner.  Alternatively, our ever-popular Dim Sum is not-to-be missed.

Chinese New Year would not be complete without a sip of the finest tea, served to you by the hotel’s tea master from a golden teapot with a meter-long spout, giving a special performance and finishing touch to the hotel’s unforgettable New Year’s celebrations.

“This year,” says Heidi KleineMoeller, General Manager,“ our Hong Kong Chef and his team will be preparing all the special dishes to be served on Chinese New Year’s Day, its name is literally translated as ‘toss of luck’, and a play on the Chinese words gives a second meaning of ‘abundance of wealth and long life’.” Every guest will get to take home a complimentary ang pao and the chance to win amazing prizes from the luxurious Millennium Hilton Bangkok. Kung Hei Fat Choi!
