At the same time, the luxuriously-appointed award-winning restaurant’s talented chefs pull out all the stops for the traditional Thai New Year celebratory buffet lunches, dinners and Sunday brunch. Displaying equal skill at creating delectable dishes inspired by the cuisines of Asia and Europe, and featuring live cooking and open kitchen action, every spread is truly in the spirit of Songkran.
International Songkran Buffet lunch (11:30 – 14:30 hrs.) is priced at 659++ Baht per person including welcome Thai mocktail. There’s a full salad and appetizer bar ranging chicken liver terrine to smoked Scottish salmon along with Thai specialties such as spicy seafood salad and grilled pork neck salad. Live stations range Thai noodles to steamed pancakes. Plus Thai and Western soups and a whole host of main courses, including Thai selections such as red curry with chicken and bamboo and deep fried prawn in tamarind sauce, and European cuisine such as pork picata with tomato sauce and baked ravioli with spinach cream sauce. The carving station offers marinated chicken in Thai herbs with sweet chili sauce and marinated Thai roasted pork loin with tamarind sauce. Plus the kinds of Thai desserts you expect at Songkran from a hotel that prides itself on its Thai pastry tradition, including live Kanom Krock station and a homemade coconut ice cream station.
International Songkran Buffet Dinner (18:00 – 22:00 hrs.) is priced at 999++ Baht per person including welcome Thai mocktail. The arrangement is similar to lunch but added with more Thai and international delicacies. The salad and appetizer bar for instance includes the likes of couscous & garden vegetable salad and fusilli pasta salad with Black Forest ham. Thai salads are also more extensive, including marinated grilled beef salad and dried squid ring, shrimp and fish maw in spicy sauce. There’s also a live classic Caesar salad station and seafood on ice, ranging squid, shrimp, mussel, oyster, blue crab and more. Plus a live Som Tam (Papaya Salad) station and extensive main dishes ranging southern Thai style yellow curry with chicken to Wok-fried shrimp with black bean soy sauce. Plus more Thai live stations and deep-fried pork knuckle, stewed duck and steamed whole white snapper on the carvery. Desserts range mango and sticky rice to passion fruit gateau.
International Songkran Buffet Brunch (12:00-15:00 hrs.) on Sunday April 13 is even more of a celebration with a further expanded dinner buffet range plus three optional drinks packages. The price at 1,399++ Baht per person including freeflow Thai mocktails, juices and soft drinks, the price is at 1,899++ Baht per person including freeflow house wine, beer and coconut martinis and the price is at 2,299++ Baht per person including freeflow Prosecco.
