ร้าน Mocking Tales ตั้งอยู่ที่ The Maze ซอยทองหล่อ 4 ชั้น G เป็นร้านเล็กๆ ไม่ใหญ่มากแต่ภายในร้านมีชั้นลอยให้บรรยากาศเป็นส่วนตัวดีมากๆ ภายในร้านตกแต่งแนวแฟนตาซีเหมือนหลุดเข้าไปในเมืองแห่งเทพนิยายก็ว่าได้ ความรู้สึกเหมือนได้เข้าไปอยู่ในห้องอาหารในเรื่องแฮรรี่พอร์ตเตอร์เลยค่ะ😄😄ร้านเปิดทุกวัน เวลา 11.00 น. - 01.00 น. ช่วงกลางวันจะเป็นร้านขนมหวาน " Day Dessert" ช่วงค่ำตั้งแต่เวลาประมาณ 19.00 น. จะเป็นร้านกินดื่ม "Naght Bar" เมนูอาหาร ของหวาน และเครื่องดื่มก็ออกแนวแฟนซีมากๆ ค่ะ โดยเฉพาะของหวานชื่อเมนูเหมือนชื่อการ์ตูนในเทพนิยาย เช่น โฉมงามกับเจ้าชายอสูร ภูเขาไฟลาวาสีเพลิง แอบเปิ้ลอาบยาพิษ พระจันทร์สีเลือดกับกระต่ายที่หายไปได้สิทธิ์ทานฟรีกับเมนู Bloody Valentine ในราคา 565 บาท จากกาแลคซี่กิ๊ฟ สบายใจไปเลยคร้า เป็นเมนูคล้ายๆ ภูเขาไฟลาวาเพลิง แต่เปลี่ยนจากโดมสามเหลี่ยมชอกโกแลตเป็นโดมไวท์ชอกโกแลตแทนราดด้วยซอสสตอเบอรี่ และใช้เหล้าส้มจุดไฟราดบนโดมสามเหลี่ยมไฟสีฟ้าสดใสสวยงามเหมือนไฟแห่งเทพ นิยายดูน่าตื่นเต้นตระการตาดีค่ะ ชอบไอเดียของหวานของทางร้านมากๆ เลยค่ะพอไฟสีฟ้าไปละลายโดมไวท์ชอกก็จะเห็นข้างในโดมจะมีไอศครีม 3 ลูก ที่เลือกรสชาติได้เองตามชอบ เลือกเป็น * Matcha สีเขียวเข้มเหมือนจะเข้มข้นแต่รสชาติชาเขียวยังรู้สึกไม่ค่อยเข้มข้น * Rum Cranberry สีขาวสวยงามรสชาติอร่อยดีมากๆ ด้านในมีแคนเบอรี่อบแห้งออกรสชาติเปรี้ยวนิดๆ รสชาตินี้ทานแล้วสดชื่นดีมากๆ เลยค่ะ* Raspberry Sorbet สีม่วงสดใส รสชาติเปรี้ยวอมหวานอร่อยสดชื่นหอมกลิ่นผลไม้ดีค่ะตกแต่งด้านล่างไอศครีมด้วยบัตเตอร์เค้กและเส้นบุกสีขาว ดูสวยงามจนเกือบไม่อยากทานเลยค่ะสั่งเครื่องดื่มเป็นชาเขียวร้อน แก้วละ 95 บาท มาเสริฟพร้อมกับบราวนี่ชิ้นเล็กๆ 4-5 ชิ้น รสชาตินุ่มนวลไม่หวานจัดหอมชอกโกแลตดีค่ะ สรุปร้านนี้คือดีงามมากๆ เมนูอาหารหลายๆ เมนูก็น่าลิ้มลอง และเมนูของหวานน่าทานทุกเมนูเลยค่ะ เครื่องดื่มก็ชื่อแปลกๆ น่าลองทานมากๆ เลยค่ะ ราคาอาหาร ขนมหวานและเครื่องดื่มยังไม่รวมค่าบริการ 10% และภาษีมูลค่าเพิ่มอีก 7%

From the hustle and bustle of Thonglor area, a step into “Mocking Tales” transports you to a fantasy world where fans of J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis can easily imagine their favourite characters come to life. Mystic and magical, this small, dimly lit café/pub is carefully designed as a “castle” down to the very last detail. The gargoyles, the woods, the owl, bottles of witch’s potion, the dragon and knights in shining armours… Mocking Tales will put you under its spell and lead you to a realm of fairytale where every dish comes with a story. And each set of new menus is another chapter of the never-ending chronicles… After a tremendous success with their signature dessert “Inferno Mountain” from Chapter 1, followed by several much-hyped dishes from Chapter 2 (Pirates Attack) and Chapter 3 (The Prophecy from the Woods), Mocking Tales has now released their new “Chapter 4” menu… Revealing the story when winter comes knocking at the castle’s door… ****-Chapter 4-**** The menu consists of 3 desserts. With the theme being “The Lost Christmas”, the dishes from Chapter 4 are inspired by the Three Spirits from Charles Dickens’ classic novel “A Christmas Carol”. The interpretation and presentation of each dish is indeed remarkable! You can order them separately, or, if you come with many friends, order the “Three Spirits of Christmas Set” and enjoy all these three dishes at a price of 990 baht. ● Spirit of the Past (280 Baht) : Blueberry Choc Chip Ice Cream+ Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream + Vanilla Shortcake + Strawberry Sauce The Spirit (or the Ghost) of Christmas past was described as a childlike figure with a jet of light glowing from its head. Hench, at the center of the dish you’ll see a white meringue shaped like a torch sitting on a thin layer of red berry jam, surrounded by a ring of liquor where a “prince” will light it up upon serving at your table. The sight of the blue flame coming up around the white “torch” is very impressive. Make sure you have your camera ready when it’s served! Out of the three dishes in Chapter 4, this dish was the one I chose to try. Beneath the meringue is a layer of Blueberry Choc Chip Ice Cream, followed by a layer of crispy Vanilla Shortcake, then another layer of Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream…then the Shortcake again. I really love the combination of flavors and how those layers were put together unevenly. The taste differed every time I took a bite depending on where my spoon chanced upon. And the bitterness of the liquor created just the right balance with the sweetness of Meringue, ice cream, and berry jam. (I’m not a liquor drinker, but I do love desserts with liquor!) For those who don’t like liquor in a dessert, fret not. The liquor is only put around the edge of the dish…so you can choose not to dip your ice cream there and you’ll be fine. The Verdict : This dish suits my taste in every way…The ice cream was firm and creamy, the Vanilla Shortcake had this pleasant buttery fragrance...perfect! ● Spirit of Present (320 Baht) – Pistachio Ice Cream, Cotton Candy, Lava Matcha Cake In Dickens’ story, the Spirit of Present is a majestic giant clad in green robe, wearing a Holly wreath on its head and carrying a glowing torch in one hand…Mocking Tales interprets this character as a torch-shaped green cotton candy, filled with pistachio ice cream and lava matcha cake. (So yes, the keyword here is “green”!) The dish is decorated with icing sugar and a ring of nuts - like a wreath… Even though I didn’t get to try this dish, I can’t help but praise their attention to detail. ● Spirit of Future (450 Baht) – Chocolate Peanut Butter Ice Cream & Chocolate Demon Ice Cream & Dark Chocolate Ice Cream, Marshmallow and Caramel Sauce & Strawberry Sauce & Nutella Sauce, fruit) Spirit of Future, or “The ghost of Christmas Yet to Come” in the story, appears as a tall, reaper-like figure shrouded in deep black garment….Scary as it sounds, this dish represents the “darkness” with one of the most well-loved dessert…Chocolate…Loads and loads of it. If you’re a chocolate lover, make sure not to miss this one! The Chapter 4 menu has not only desserts, but also some drinks. And this is the one I chose to try.. ● Frozen Earth (120 Baht) – Black coffee frozen into ice cubes can well represent the name “Frozen Earth”. And the milk that is served separately can be seen as snow. This clever presentation allows you to taste the coffee from a light, milky tone right after you pour the milk into a glass full of coffee ice cubes – to a stronger coffee taste as the coffee cubes melt. Love it! ****-Coffee Menu-**** …Or to be precise, a normal coffee menu outside Chapter 4. Mocking Tales is known to be a café during day time and a pub (with alcoholic drinks and live bands) at night, so most of the time it’s their fancy cocktails that attract attention. But don’t look down on their coffee! The coffee menu, like everything here, comes with their stories. “The Black Sword” is meant for black coffee, “The White Knight” for all kinds of hot coffee with milk, “The Frozen Shield” for iced coffee, and “The Three Kings” for their special coffee. ● Long Black (95 Baht) – Having a habit of drinking hot black coffee accompanying a dessert, I chose to order this “Long Black”, or Caffe Lungo, from The Black Sword series. (With espresso having an unfortunate name like “Short Black”, I won’t be surprised if Caffe Lungo gains more popularity here.) And, surprisingly, it was oh-so-gooood! The body, the aroma…everything was just right. Let’s say this place is obviously serious about their coffee. And a big plus is that it came with a whole piece of complimentary muffin (I’m not sure if they always serve muffin with coffee, though. I went there during Christmas time so it could just be a special Christmas treat). To be honest the taste of the muffin is rather bland, but the texture is soft and moist enough. Despite this place having a reputation of charging overly expensive, the price of their hot coffee is quite reasonable...And with a complimentary muffin, you can say it’s a steal! ****- Location and Opening Hours-****The shop is located on the G Floor of The Maze Thonglor, Soi Thonglor 4. Upon entering the building, you’ll immediately see a knight’s armour guarding the door on the right hand side…Easy.Opening Hour : 11.00 – 01.00 (Last order at midnight)Reservation: 083 386 6992If you plan to go there during peak hours, be sure to make reservation in advance. The place is rather small and often have long queue due to its popularity.****-…And the Verdict is…-**** I’m usually skeptical about restaurants with head-turning marketing tactics. And if I travel abroad and find a restaurant in Europe decorated with Thai ancient folklore theme, I might just feel more amused than anything else, thinking it fake and out of place. But, although the idea of a castle sounds foreign to Bangkok, the charm of a mystic fantasy world is universal. And Mocking Tales, despite the size of the café being rather small, embraces the concept very well. Above all else, I can feel that they’re serious about their drinks and desserts. There might be many conflicting reviews regarding the quality versus the price of the dishes. Even I myself, if I had chosen a different menu, might not have enjoyed this meal as much as I did. However, with their good-quality food materials, their attention to details, and their staffs all willing to explain the menu to you, I believe everyone can find something that suits one’s taste there.

The Mocking tale Cafe สุดชิคย่านทองหล่อ ที่มีเป็นเอกลักษณ์ประจำตัว ด้วยการตกแต่งให้ดูลึกลับเหมือนกับเข้าไปในปราสาทสมัยโบราณ ใช้สีและแสงไฟทำให้บรรยากาศดูสลัวๆ แต่เข้าไปนั่งแล้วไม่รู้สึกอึดอัดเลย นั่งชิลๆสบายสุดๆ พนักงานทุกคนก็น่ารัก เป็นกันเอง คอยแนะนำเมนูให้ลูกค้าดีมากคะเมนูของที่ร้านมีทั้ง กาแฟ สมูธตี้ ขนมหวาน และไอศครีม แต่วันนี้ตั้งใจมากินเมนู Inferno Mountain เนื่องจากเห็นการ presentation แล้วอยากจะมาสัมผัสของจริง และก็ไม่ผิดหวังคะ เมนูนี้ เว่อร์วังอลังการมากๆ พนักงานจะยกมา เสริฟกันที่โต๊ะเลยคะ เมนูนี้ทางร้านใช้ช็อกโกแลตทำเป็นรูปร่างทรงกรวยให้คล้ายๆภูเขาไฟ ตอนเสิร์ฟจะราดด้วยซอสราสป์เบอร์รี่แล้วจุดไฟจนช็อกโกแลตละลายจนถึงด้านใน ทานคู่กับไอศครีม ฟินมากคะ ชอคโกแลตเข้มข้นหวานกำลังดี ซอสราสป์เบอร์รี่เปรี๊ยวนิดๆ อร่อยมากกกกกกก😊ลูกค้าสามารถเลือกรสชาติไอศครีมได้ 3 ลูกนะคะ เราเลือกเป็น adams apple,strawberry cheese cake และ matcha อร่อยทุกรสชาติเลยคะ (ไอศครีมของที่นี่เป็นแบบโฮมเมดนะจ้ะ)ลองสั่งเครื่องดื่ม Green Valley มาชิม เนื่องพนักงานแนะนำ อยากให้ลองชิม ซึ่งแก้วนี้มีคะน้าเป็นส่วนผสมในด้วย ตอนแรกกลัวมากว่าจะมีกลิ่นคะน้า เพราะเป็นคนที่ไม่ชอบคะน้าเลย แต่ผิดคาดไม่มีกลิ่นคะน้าเลย หอม หวานลงตัว เปรี๊ยวนิดๆ ดื่มแล้วสดชื่นมากๆสุดท้ายนี้อยากจะบอกว่าการตกแต่งร้าน เมนูขนม เครื่องดื่มต่างๆหน้าตาและรสชาติดีเช่น พนักงานก็หน้าตาดีเช่นนั้นคะ 55555 ☺️😊
